Great product but quite pricey.

Got this product on a whim when my 12.5 year old pup was having tummy troubles. After 4 days of liquid poops (even on special vet gastro food), I was worried. Stumbled upon this product after googling “home remedies for dog diarrhea” and man am I glad I did!!! After only 2 days on this product (at only half a dose/meal), his poops were back to being solid and normal. He was back to acting like himself and no longer seemed uncomfortable or gassy. He has an extremely sensitive gut and this product worked wonders. Genuinely cannot say enough good things about it! He’s now up to the full recommended dose and still doing great! 100% recommend!

I purchased this for my two small dogs. I think it might be helping but they are only getting a small amount 2x daily. They refuse to eat it. I’ve tried everything to get them to eat it. I even put it on a little of my dinner and tried to feed it to them. This is such a treat usually however they caught on and stopped eating it. If I scramble eggs with garlic they don’t seem to notice. Eggs 2x a day is not a possible option. I’m open to suggestions!
Update: This is such an amazing company! They reached out to me, not the other way around! I started feeding the chicken flavour and they are a lot more accepting of the chicken flavour. My Mother is using the first order! She is sold. She found after about 4 days her poodle is not scratching and licking very much. The scratching and licking she is still doing could be just habit. Purchase from this company with no hesitation! I will purchase again and again! Very satisfied with everything about my first purchase.

Here’s my puppy diarrhea story –
My sweet labradoodle puppy has had diarrhea since we adopted him. Countless switching of foods and saw some improvement once we moved from a chicken to a lamb based food (which I would highly recommend if your puppy or dog has regular diarrhea, many dogs are sensitive to it and you would never guess)
Saw a bit of improvement on Victor Lamb and Brown Rice food, until his bouts of nighttime diarrhea started. I dewormed him thinking it could be that but no improvement. I was up every hour and a half, 4-7 times a night for my lil man to do the hershey squirts. Poor guy. Took him to the vet who put him on Metronidazole, which worked instantly, but as soon as the dose was up his nighttime diarrhea started again. I ordered an allergy test for him, only to get the results that he was clear for everything I fed him. So that didn’t help either. Additionally, my puppy acted COMPLETELY normal besides the diarrhea, so I was positive there wasn’t something else underlying.
I was at a complete loss of what to do. In a last ditch effort, I decided to order this and try it out.
I saw initial bits of improvement when I sprinkled this on his food, but not enough to make a difference. (I started with the 1/4 serving like it says and slowly sprinkled a bit more on his food each day. Unfortunately the nighttime diarrhea continued. I came back to these Amazon reviews searching for guidance or other thoughts and saw another reviewer mention that he gave his Yorkie puppy a tablespoon on its food each morning, which ultimately resolved its diarrhea. Last ditch effort round 2, I topped my puppy’s food with a full tablespoon (from previous ~1 teaspoon) thinking that his diarrhea couldn’t get any worse anyways, so why not shoot for the moon.
HALLELUJAH, literal immediate results. No more night time diarrhea, literal perfect poops! When I take him off of it, the diarrhea comes back. I’ve heard some puppies just grow out of the soft stools, so we’ll see how he does without it once he gets older. For now, major heartfelt gratitude for perfect poop for saving my sanity (and my pup). I LOVE YOU!

** Updating my review because I’m really happy with the customer service. It didn’t work for my dog (see original review) but they reached out to me and offered help. They stood by their satisfaction guarantee. I appreciate how they genuinely wanted to help and have it work for my dog. I think my dog just has an intolerance to the product unfortunately!

I started using this and following the instructions carefully. I was hoping this would help harden up my dog’s stool and it’s going the exact opposite. My dog is pooping soft stool several times a day and he’s pooped in his crate every single night since using this. Even if I use the smallest amount, this happens. My other dog, whom I also tried using it for, also has softer stools than before, which isn’t good. I wish I didn’t buy the larger bag because it’s a total waste.

I have tried EVERYTHING (20+ products, veterinary prescriptions, cooked diet, pro and prebiotics, Chinese herbal remedies, etc… etc… etc…) over the past year to keep my 12 year old Pitbull from getting bouts of diarrhea. I used this as instructed and started out slow (eod), but his diarrhea continued, and at one point became much worse (watery) along with thee most horrific, nonstop gas I’ve ever witnessed in him… this continued for another week. I persevered and kept adding it to his morning meal because I know how sensitive digestive systems are and sometimes need a lengthy adjustment period, especially when adding probiotics. Finally, after 10 days his poop started to firm up. I’ve been giving this to him daily for the past 4 weeks (half the recommended dose) and he has had perfectly defined poop daily! and has had ZERO digestive upsets (gas). If you’re skeptical like I was, give it TIME, and go slow. Bernies Perfect Poop is seriously a lifesaver for my pitty, Brewer!! and ME.

Dogs will not touch this stuff 😒 Amazon will NOT allow a return! I was just going to exchange it for the cheese flavor like the advertised guarantee says but instaed I’m out over 85 bucks. My 4 dogs still have mushy poo or the squirts. Even the vet can’t figure out the cause and no treatment has 100% cleared the issue.
Update 9/14/23 I increased to four stars for customer service alone ! The company contacted me and refunded my order even though Amazon doesn’t do it 😒 I’m sure that is pain for the company the same as it is a pain for the customer . But they are keeping there word as a good company who stands behind there products (rare today)
So to me Bernie’s Best has the best customer service !

This is my second review to add some new information that has worked for us. Although after using PP with positive results, I was also adding additional water to his food. He was spitting up pretty often after eating and I couldn’t figure out why. It was the water. Too much but I felt the granules needed the water to expand and do their work. So I experimented with grinding the granules to a powder in my coffee grinder, which did the trick. Didn’t need as much water and the spitting-up ended. It did take a while to find the correct dosage. Our 11-pound dog gets 1/4 teaspoon at both his meals and it seems to be just the right amount for him. He used to wake me up at 3:00 a.m. to go out every few weeks and that has stopped. He has good healthy and well-formed poops now. It was a lot of trial and error and discouraging at times but Bernie’s Perfect Poop has made us all very happy.

“Bernie’s Perfect Poop”. Whoa is this real? Anyone else tried this? We have had our Frenchie puppy for two months now, and I don’t think he has taken a normal poop the entire time. It’s been nothing but gross loose shooting out poops. We’ve tried changing foods, we put him on parasite meds in case he has giardia, we have given him anti-diarrheal medicine, I was at my wits end. I decided to buy some of this perfect poop the other day from Amazon and follow the directions and I was kind of shocked that after the very first time he ate it, I saw what looked like an almost normal poop for the first time in the entire time we’ve had him. I was half expecting this not to work at all, or to take a week or two to see any kind of resolution because we’ve been let down with every change we’ve ever made. I gave it to him for the second time today and again, I saw what looked like a normal poop, followed by some pretty gross stuff at the very tail end of it. But I’m still pretty, amazed that it actually seems to make a difference which is kind of shocking.
Anyone else try this stuff? Curious if this is something to keep him on long term or what the story is there. So far so good! I’ll update my review if things change.

Our 10-year old small dog had a bout of pancreatitis last year, which required a lengthy course of anti-inflammatories and antibiotics. Although she recovered from her illness, she was left with very poor digestion. She got little nutrition from her food, excreting must if what she ate, and was constantly hungry and irritable. Even the probiotic treatments we got from the vet didn’t seem to help much.
We found this amazing product in a online search, but the US manufacturer did not ship to Canada so I was glad to find it on Amazon. It combines prebiotics, probiotics and digestive enzymes, and has helped restore our pup’s gut health. She now has less poop and stomach upset as well as better nutrition. There has been a marked improvement in her coat and energy levels, and she is not contantly prowling for food scraps.
It took a few days for her to accept and adapt to this supplement, which has to be introduced gradually, but the results were worth the effort. Now she takes it with every meal, to prevent the gastric pain and upset that returns if she misses even a few doses.
I can’t guarantee it will work as well for every dog, but for our pet, it is essential to her good health and nutrition.
