A sifter is a sifter, however, how functional it is makes all the difference. The white turner on the handle makes this sifter stand out above the rest: easy to use, doesn’t get stuck, comfortable.

I’ve tried three or four types, and I like these best. They are useful for far more than baking. You can use it to add flour or cornstarch to liquid, roll biscuits, knead bread, dust powdered sugar, dust cinnamon sugar.

I admit that I got this due to visions of perfectly decorated coffee cups and sugared papers. I discovered it was far more useful than that. I learned to bake in a dry climate, and routinely dust pans with flour and cocoa powder to reduce the cake sticking to the pan. In my new damp climate, my method of grabbing a small handful of powder, tossing it in the pan and shaking the pan did not work half as well as I thought it should. Using this duster made the cocoa powder distribute the way I thought it should be. I’m delighted.
It cleans up perfectly in the dish washer.
