The pros: set-up is simple, the unit itself is compact and aesthetically pleasing (mixes in nicely with surrounding decor), and it contains a convenient stand which allows you to stand it up vs. most others which require you stick it on a wall – not always a good option if the wall closest to the TV is not facing the towers. With the stand, simply rotate as needed to get the best signal. It’s also easy to hide the wires (unless on other devices) The cons: Running an auto-detect through the TV has actually deleted channels a couple of times, so I have to run again, and sometimes more than once. That said, the signals that I do get are strong and crisp. Conclusion: for the money, best value indoor antenna I could find. No complaints, and in fact I’ll be buying a second for another TV.

I bought this upgraded antenna to replace a $20 Moju that always disappointed in rainy or windy weather. I placed this Insignia upgrade on a high bookshelf pointing in the right direction of our local TV stations & instantly received great, HD programming with minimal interruptions in bad weather. And I saved $100/month by cutting the cable TV cord. Love that!!

This is your first step to cutting the Cable! Plugged it in, ran the search for channels and it found a bunch of local channels as well as some cable channels we watch. With this and Internet there is no need to pay for cable or satellite. Just like the instructions say, the closer it’s set to a window the better the reception and not all the channels have perfect reception but I am OK with that. Most of the channels are at 720P not 1080 but still clear. I have the non powered version for the guest room and it works good too, but does have less channels than this one. Yes, I do recommend this antenna!!!
