Cats will not walk on these mats – and you don’t want to either!
These work to keep cats off your floors and furniture.
We have purchased them a second time.

I placed these around my bird feeder and bird bath to keep the neighbors cat from getting the birds. The cat tip toed around the mats but since he had no place to sit he wandered off. Good deal

I’ve tried the water sprinklers, the ultrasound units, flashing lights…..nothing kept the cats away. My yard was the neighborhood kitty liter box. I was picking up remains and scattered mulch every morning. Placed these around my trees and mulched areas and no more traces of cat activity. Simple solution! I also simply placed one square on each seat of my patio furniture which I had to cover and uncover daily due to cat hair and now my patio is no longer hotel kitty!! Yeah!!!!

I am a fan of the Cat Scat Mat, but only for Vertical surfaces (like a tree trunk going straight up). After some initial hesitation, our cat would walk on top of the mat (see picture) when on a horizontal, or even diagonal surface. However, we put it on a vertical tree trunk and it remains effective and keeps him from going up.
I gave it 4 stars (instead of 5) because the pictures show it on a horizontal surface and it simply doesn’t work for that. If it were advertised as a vertical surface only, I’d give it 5 stars.
Also note that the material is fairly brittle, so you need to be careful to not break it when installing. The mats have a round loop on some sides and a corresponding peg on the other sides (so that the mats can be connected). These are really flimsy and come apart or break easily. Instead of using them, I used small cable ties which is very effective. I highly recommend using cable ties to connect the mats together and to themselves (like around a tree).

Do you have a big pot that has become a new lay spot crushing the plants or an alternate litter box? Get these and that stops immediately!
If you don’t like the spikey look, bury them so a little bit of the points stick up. There’s no avoiding them and they instantly get the message, “This is off limits!”

Bought these to deter cats from using my lawn as a communal latrine. They’re not 100% effective – cats will always find a way around them but, it has been successful in changing their behaviour. In combination with sonic cat scarer, they no longer consider my lawn worth the effort and go elsewhere.

I like it. But it only prevent my small cat, not those stray cats that i wish them not to come. They still come and killed my doves. And they even step onto and jump right into that mats.

I rage ordered these mats after getting sick of a neighbor cat ripping up my newly planted petunias and destroying other areas in my yard. The mats work great! The plastic spines are sturdy and very effective in keeping the cats out. You can customize the mats by cutting them to fit your desired area. I highly recommend this product and will purchase again if need be.

Disclaimer – this was purchased to keep a small pooper, I mean dog, out of specific areas at night. I can’t report cat effectiveness. Even though the plastic feels like it should be resilient, the spikes will break off if accidentally stepped on. And, my personal opinion is that they aren’t particularly pleasant when stepped on, but not lethal.

Next spring I plan to use these mats to keep cats out of my flower beds. I’m not sure what I am going to use to keep them in place. Any suggestions??
