Perfect for cutting stems and light branches. Includes Safety Lock and Dual-mode switch to engage powerful ratchet setting. Great for Seniors!
- EASY EFFICIENT CUTTING: Incredibly sharp tree trimmers with High Carbon Steel Blade with nonstick protective coating. Razor sharp curved cutting blade maximizes cutting effectiveness, cuts cleanly every time without crushing plant material. Jane Carey –
These shears do a great job on my rose bushes and shrubs, however after a few bushes my hand did start to cramp up. I know they say these are good for seniors, however the repetition of using them is hard on the hands. But are good as far as ratcheting shears go.

I use a hand trimmer daily to trim bushes, large weeds and small tree limbs. This product is lightweight and easy to carry. It has 2 settings: one nips smaller vegetation easily; and on the ratcheting setting, I can easily cut thicker stems and branches. I question its durability due to its lightweight nature–but hopefully it will prove as durable as it is comfortable to use.

I was initially concerned about the critical parts in this tool made from low quality plastic. To my surprise, it lasted about two years before it failed.

good value for the price
Melissa –
I used it for trimming shrubs. My hands are too small for jaws to open fully.

Purchased these hoping they would help ease the pain from arthritis. They are very well made, but heavy for me.
Unfortunately, they’re more difficult to use than my old fiskars. Very disappointed. I am returning them

I have small hands and I really wanted a ratcheted pruner that I could manage. The advertisement said that this was good for “women’s” hands which I took to mean for smaller hands, but not so. I kept it and I’ll make it work, it’s just not ideal.
Rosita –
I ordered the product specific for my hands that ache when pruning.
Saturday the weather allowed me to begin pruning to spring shoots popping up. After several hours of pruning the pin that attached to open and close and gear change fell off and I could not find it. It was then that I noticed the thinner blade was missing a chunk of metal.
These pruners fell very short of my expectations. Buyer Beware

This Garden Guru Ratchet Pruning Shear puzzled me. I couldn’t find anything in the instructions, or the video, that showed me how to open the shears. The slide button was obvious, but pressing on it left only a dent in my thumb.
I immediately turned to customer support via email. The response from Daven early the next morning (Saturday of Labor Day Weekend) suggested that the handles may not have been fully closed, and if I could send him a picture he would try to diagnose the issue. Failing that, he would send me a replacement.
If I had read the reviews that mentioned the force that is needed to close the shears in order to slide the lock, I would have saved all his time. However, Daven’s next message on Labor Day at 4:26 PM solved the issue.
Squeeze the handles with increasing pressure until the pruner opens. (If the lower jaw contains debris, it may not lock until cleaned.)
Yesterday I worked on pruning embedded ivy vines, some dead crabapple branches, and clearing a chain link fence of various unsightly interwoven plants, previously pruned by a young buck, but now delegated to an octogenarian. The only thing it lacks is a built-in vial of mosquito spray.
The best part of the purchase was Daven’s quick response (on a national holiday of importance) and his offer to replace it made the experience of customer service feel like a conversation with a friend. Shear pleasure!

I have RA, my PT advised that I get clippers that use all my fingers, which should help with the ache I get when put under stress.
Unfortunately, these do not work for me. Even for my husband, the grip is a stretch.
If you have larger hands these will work great.
