The Fiskars hedge shears are generally great and these are just short enough that I can get them into my hiking backpack to do trail maintenance. Just what I was looking for.

Fiskar does not disappoint. When I was looking for hedge clippers I saw what looked like good tools for less $£¥ but I find Fiskar to be of such great quality, I figure why waste my time and money on something that might not live up to my satisfaction.
I’ll add to this review once I’ve cut some “hedge” down that is growing through my nice privacy fence from the other side. 😉

Product itself is good but description is misleading. Listing states Country of origin Finland, this is not correct as item is made in Vietnam.

Pros: very sharp and powerful
Cons: they’re pretty heavy, I guess that’s a trade off for the power, so it is what it is.
More of an angle from the handle to the cutters than I’m used to, so it makes trimming things at shoulder height or above really difficult.
Neither of these things may matter to some people, but for me personally, it’s what merited a 4 star rating instead of 5.

I have been very unhappy with my existing Craftsman telescoping sheers slipping out of lock position and the soft metal of the blades which chip and dull quickly make using them frustrating. Having looked prior to replacing them, had been turned off by the pricing so I made do with them.
I just happened to see these Fiskars on sale and had to buy them and not disappointed. I bought a set of regular sheers too by Fiskars at over half off and am very happy now because tools matter and crappy tools make for an unhappy experience and can hurt you. So glad I have a tool that is likely to last the rest of my lifetime, hopefully.

These trimmers do their job. They do not cut through branches “like butter,” which I read from many reviews here and elsewhere, but they are sharp enough and basically did what I expected. Not above and beyond, but just right for small branches that are in the way. Telescoping feature is cool. I like the Fiskars brand, they are my go-to for most of my blade/scissors/knives/crafting needs. I don’t see a safety lock feature on here, which is important to me for added security with a toddler in the house. Will have to keep them extra high out of reach just in case baby learns to climb! The trimmers do have some weight to them. They are not extraordinarily heavy, but I would not deem them super lightweight at all. If you are rather out of shape and/or older, you will need to work a little more slowly over a single trimming session. But, the good thing is, they are designed with a helpful angle to them that is not too dramatic, perfect for what I needed.

i have a weed eater, but i snaps the line if there are any stalks.
a hedge trimmer doesn’t work on grass (nor will a weed eater it they are thick clumps)
looked into a scythe, then found this beauty.
it cuts everything quickly and with no exertion. i have tendonistis and carpal tunnel – used this with ease – without my are and wrist band
