In transitioning new kittens to household, we used this diffuser to reduce the stress on the older cat. We’re not convinced this eliminated all stress as there was still plenty of hissing and growling with the cat and the young kitten too. It gets 4 stars because one of the kittens was very high strung and aggressive with the other kitten and that seems to be resolved and they play much better together. Probably won’t refill these as time seems to be the answer to stress reduction.

A couple of years ago, one of our two cats suddenly became very territorial about the master bedroom. She had decided this was her space, and anytime the other cat tried to come in. She would growl and hiss, and this would frequently be followed by a fight. The other cat refused to give up, and so the master bedroom has been the site of a massive cat fights for the last two years. This is caused a lot of stress, obviously, for both people and pets. I decided to give this product a try, after having tried lots of other things that didn’t help. Within a few days of plugging this unit in close to the spot where the cats most often have their hostilities, everything calmed down. I haven’t heard a hiss, or a growl, or a fight in more than a week, and I’m hopeful it’s going to stay this way. This morning, both cats hopped on the bed for pets and scratches, and there was no conflict at all. I can’t remember the last time that happened! Some other reviewers say they can smell this stuff, but I don’t smell anything. Others have commented that it’s expensive, but this new peace, along with the fact that no cat has peed outside the litter box n the last week, feels worth it. So far, so good!

Lo conseguí por recomendación de mi veterinaria para mi gata de 12 años; mi perrita de 14 falleció y la gata estuvo en duelo/depresión, y adopté un cachorro, asi que todos esos cambios le afectaron. Andaba tensa, atacaba, huia, etc. ya que los gatos son bastante sensibles a los cambios.
Cuando lo puse no pasaron ni 30 min y vi a mi gata mucho más relajada, dejó que el cachorro la oliera y se acercara a ella, y hasta dias después comenzó a volver a buscarme a que la acariciara (por el duelo quería ella estar sola y no aceptaba que la cargara).
Es excelente para tener gatos tranquilos y el precio lo vale. Voy a estar comprando los repuestos porque finalmente mi gata está feliz y tranquila, y eso es lo más importante para mí.

My friend recommended I get this because I adopted a new kitten and already have an adult cat. She said it would help facilitate the meeting. I don’t know if it worked, but the cats met with no issues and play together now, though they don’t hang out other than playing (i.e. no cuddling or grooming together). I think its a good thing to have anyway because my cat does sit by it a lot. However, it seems a bit expensive for such iffy effectiveness.

I have three rescued cats from the same organization. One is mother to the other, and the third is not related. Several months ago, the daughter, who is like a teen going from passive-aggressive to loving, began chasing her mother in really rough play. There are dustbuster tails and hissing and swatting. It was driving me crazy, especially when one day I found a couple drops of blood. (None since, thankfully.).
In desperation, I bought this not knowing if it would work (as some said) or not work (as others said). I received it quickly, added the liquid and plugged them in. I had four for a 1,650 square foot home: one in the master bedroom, one in the guest bedroom, one in the den and one in the living room.
It took about two weeks for the effects to show. But I think it did work. I also did calming meditations to help me stay calm whenever the chasing and screaming showed up so maybe it was some of both. I cannot know. But when the liquid ran out at the end of the month I decided to see if I could not renew it–the thing costs money and feeding and housing three cats is already somewhat expensive. So I unplugged them. Lo and behold, while the intensity of their less-than-ideal chasing hasn’t much changed the number of times it happens definitely has. I just let it go now excepting for an occasional soft but firm verbal warning if I am around.
I believe this did have an effect (yay!) and that maybe it changed them enough that I do not have to use it regularly. But I am not sure. All I can say is to give this a try for a time–one month or two?–and see what happens. If you need it for a longer time you can always order more.
Note: The one thing I definitely did NOT like is the light on it. I like my home dark when I sleep and these dispensers have a blue light that is very strong in dark rooms. I learned to sleep without a problem but I wish the company could find another way to handle the notification that it is plugged in and working. That and the ongoing cost were undoubtedly the reasons I wanted to stop it if possible. So far, so (relatively) good.

Plugged 2 units in yesterday as soon as they arrived and prayed they’d help.
The cute 5 lb kitty in the photo is one of 6 indoor kitties, and has really been struggling. She has become more and more shy – hiding all the time, reluctant to eat with the other cats or to eat at all, pooping & peeing outside the litter box, and starting fights with the other cats. Basically, she’s been showing all the signs of a stressed out kitty. Around people and one of the cats (a large boy cat), she friendly & gentle. She provokes and attacks any of the others for no reason.
So far since yesterday, she’s eaten with the other cats, and has been more social. She hasn’t pooped or peed outside the box. There have been scuffles with the other kitties, but I hope that will settle down. (I’ll update my review in a few weeks!)
We humans don’t smell anything, & unless I saw the actual plug in, I wouldn’t know it was here.
If this stuff works, it will be worth every penny & I’ll be a customer forever. I sure hope it does!
