Fairy Locks are made when fairies fly through your hair, or play in it while you sleep. These tangles can be adorned with bells, charms, gemstones and a beautiful array of colorful yarn and string. There is also a lot to be said about weaving magic into fibers, and I knot a little magic into every fairy lock I make.

-Please first begin by choosing the length and thickness of your fairy lock. I only offer two options for thickness, which are approx 1/4in or 1/2in. The length of your lock is measured from the top of the install loop down to the tip of the tail.

-Make sure you leave details of the colors you want or any specific vibes you are going for. If not I’ll have to create one for you (which is also fine). Please also indicate your hair color so I can best match the loop to your hair color.

– I have just about every color yarn and string, so please just leave a good description of the color or color scheme you are going for. If you are going for something very specific please be as detailed as possible. I will not plagiarize or make exact replicas of other artist’s work. If you want to send me inspo pics as a guide that is totally fine, but I won’t attempt to recreate anything that wasn’t made by me.

– I will attach 3 charms to the lock. I have a ton of charms, so if there is anything specific you are wanting just ask and list a few options and I’ll see if I have it. The charms I have available now are as follows:

Leaves (gold/silver/bronze), silver pot leaf, , feather (silver/bronze), silver/gold tree, silver sand dollar, silver Hamsa hand, lotus flower(gold/silver), silver tiny spoon, silver tiny dinglehopper, silver mushroom, silver ohm, silver shell, pinecones & acorns (bronze/silver), silver fairy, evil eye/nazar bead in assorted colors, small silver daisy, sunflower (gold/silver), witchy charms (silver witch hat, cauldron, pumpkin, cat), silver sword, moons (gold/silver), silver clouds, silver lightning, silver jingle bells, silver Saturn, keys, crosses, pentagrams, silver wings, silver magic wand, silver dancing bears, silver unicorn, silver dragon.

I also have bits of gemstones such as lapis lazuli, rose quartz, tigers eye, citrine, amethyst, onyx, quartz, purple agate as well as shells, wooden beads in different tones such as red, light wood, brown wood, and opalescent tear drops.

If I am out of any of these options I will select a reasonable replacement for you! As always any charms are easily removeable, and it is also simple to add your own charms as you come across any baubles you want to carry with you.

To install your fairy lock, you can pull a dreadlock through the loop at the top, and secure with a small hair elastic at the root. To install in loose hair, separate out a small section of hair into three parts. Slide the middle section of hair through the loop and secure by braiding that section of hair, and then securing with a small hair elastic. You don’t have to braid the whole strand if you don’t want to, a half inch braid works fine too! Try to keep the lock secured as close to your scalp as you comfortably can.

Your Fairy Lock may seem stiff at first, especially if you order the thicker 1/2” size. The lock relaxes and feels more natural just after a short amount of time and wear.

I recommend removing your locks before showering to avoid excessive wear, but it is not necessary to remove before every wash.
