This has been an effective deterrent against turkeys and some help against ground squirrels

Item exactly as described. It can fold or roll for easier storage. Fits on top of my sectional couch perfectly!

I’ve now gotten 2 sets of these to keep my new rescue cat off some things in my house. I used to have the better-operated scat mats but these work just as well. The “connection” pieces are a joke, but that’s my only complaint.

Very effective with keeping our cat off the nice fabric dining room chairs and off the dining table. It’s just not practical to keep it on the table every day. They are lightweight for ease of use. I also use these on the carpet at the bathroom door to keep the kitty from pulling the carpet out when she gets mad because the bathroom door is closed. Overall a good deterrent for keeping cats off surfaces.

I have a brat of a Maine coon cat who thinks the house is his kingdom and he can go where he wants. But I have a rule that cats are not allowed to be walking around on any surface that isn’t meant for sitting or laying on. I have to keep him off of tables and countertops and this product is working the best for both of us so far.
I used shock mats, but they’re finicky and low quality. If you’re not careful what you’re doing, you might get zapped too, and it made us wary to ever touch or move the mats around. The mats would stop working if you even gently picked it up to move it, and you’d have to reset it and turn it on again.
I tried double sided carpet tape which worked to keep the cat off the counters, but I can’t put double sided tape on my glass dining room table. It’s not removable and I had to work around it in the kitchen when I had it on the counters. My mechanic husband also had fun leaving dirty fingerprints all over the sticky tape, making it unsightly and dirty.
I like these prickle mats because I can customize them to fit any area I need them on. They stack nicely on top of each other and I ziptie them together so that I can just pull them all off in one shape. The cat can’t walk on them so he’s been staying away. When I need to use a counter or table, I simply take off the mats and set them aside, or hang them on a hook until I’m done, then I set them back down. So far the cat has respected them and we are now both happy 🙂

This has kept cat from climbing up the TV and away from house plants.

Nothing else kept my cats from marking an area on my carpet. These aren’t beautiful but they work.

I think the video I posted shows one of the best ways this product can be used.
Under my desk is a dangerous, dusty place with pointy things poking through, and I did not want the cats there. They have not found a way in since I installed the spikes.
The spike mats are easy to cut and string together with zip ties (sadly not included). You can then tie the ends to the legs of a chair, table, couch, etc.
I am deducting a star because this product does not really work as a deterrent (cats dislike it, but will still walk over it if they really have to). It can, however, be great at blocking certain openings if you use a bit of creativity.

I rescued a mama cat and 3 of her 5 babies a couple of months ago. The babies were 10 weeks old and are now about 5 months old. These are special kittens, in that I’ve never met more stubborn, bullheaded, or troublemaking cats in my life. In fact, they are named Chaos, Mayhem and Havoc for exactly this reason – they have overrun my house. Honestly I’m MOSTLY okay with that, except I do NOT tolerate cats on the countertops, kitchen table or coffee table. I have tried EVERYTHING, water, noise, sticky pads, you name it. These seem to do the trick, as long as I can keep them in place. I found rubber banding one to the lid of the trashcan works (so far), and I plan to use painters and/or packing tape to keep others in place as needed.
I appreciate that they’re significantly larger than other cat deterrents and I was able to snip then easily with a wire cutter, though I think scissors will do it too. My only irritance is they arrived slightly damaged, which makes it difficult to attach them, and some won’t sit perfectly flat.
1st photo is the one on my trash can, 2nd is this product compared to a competitor for size reference. Pics 3-4 show slight damage on arrival (the box is intact so I’m guessing this happened prior to being boxed/shipped). Last photo is Mayhem, Chaos and Havoc living up to their names in my shower.

Our newly adopted cat jumped up onto a moderately warm ceramic stovetop burner, landing for a split second before her rejected landing (she was OK with no evident burn. I iced her paw anyway–which she didn’t like—and she walked about just fine). Despite the whole ‘9 lives’ thing and, thinking about the inquisitive and curious nature of cats, I quickly looked for a deterrent. I found several, but chose this GENEROUSLY SIZED set of connectable scat mats. We placed them on the counters and stovetop and a bit later, an empty room and Curious Cat…We heard her scatter about and quickly jump down. This is a very good sign!! Now, there are two prickly sides to these hard, plastic mats; one, 1/4″ and the other, 3/4″. We first tested one mat by gently placing her on the mat with the short prickly side up. She got the hint and wasn’t hurt by it. The short prickly side (1/4″) in the upward direction is how we’re using the scat mats. Will continue to monitor and repost, but so far, a brilliant product!
