Returned a previous unit because it acted defective but the problem turned out to be a combination design error. Hot spot function stops working when the battery charge drops below a given level charge. At the critical charge point, the wifi signal repeatedly starts and stops before it stops altogether, giving the symptom that the unit is defective. All the time, the charge indicator light stays green indicating the battery is fully charged and functionally normally.
Two issues: If you are going to provide a charge indicator, be sure that it accurately communicates when functionally is at risk. Next, If you are going to disable wifi then disable it. Don’t flicker it on and off as if the electronics can’t decide what to do.

It did not come with clear instructions and I had to call tech support to find out how to use them. The range for the WiFi is very short (about 50 feet max), so you can’t get very far away from the modem. I got them primarily to get a live view of a couple of problem areas, but it takes too long for the camera to talk to my smart phone. Sometimes over a minute.

Ordered this to replace an old wi-fi hot spot to use on the AT&T service. Old device was still working but becoming increasingly slow with low to moderate signal. Primary use is when camping and wanting to take along the old land line phone. Had to replace the SIM card then it connected quickly. Signal integrity is much better allowing streaming again.

I have a strong AT&T cell signal at my home… this unit uses my home telephone number with AT&T to provide voice telephone service throughout my home via its connection to a cordless phone system in my home. It also provides a Wi-Fi data connection for internet connectivity, video streaming, etc. It works great! (NOTE: AT&T no longer sells this unit through its stores. Make sure you already have a cell contract with AT&T that includes data service.)

I had one of these from AT&T when they replaced the old 3G version that made my home phone a “cellular” phone. It lasted about 6 months. Reached out and they said, “take it to an AT&T outlet”. They replaced the SIM and all was good…for about 3 months. Took it back again and they replaced the SIM again, but it never worked. They told me that they no longer support these. Well, what to do???
Support had me on the phone for 2 hours only to tell me that I would either need to buy a cell phone to use my home number, convert back to landline, drop my home phone number or buy one of these from a website.
Well, let’s see…
Buy a $1000 cell phone, give up a number that’s been tied to all contacts for 30 years, pay $70+ per month for a landline or buy from a third party. Well, I can buy one of these every month and be ahead of that conversion back and I see no need to buy a new phone, make payments and a $35 monthly fee for it to sit on a table and I didn’t want to have to change every contact list I have, so I decide to buy this.
Took the SIM out of the old one, popped it in here and had home phone service again in less than 20 minutes.
Hopefully this one will work much better than the AT&T supplied one.

Bought this because AT&T phase out the old 3G homebase phone.
Per their customer service, they should have sent me a new device but can’t find any record about sending.
Anyway, they told us to buy this model because they no longer have them on their inventory to send it to me.
So far, it work but not as good as the old one.
The thing I don’t like about this new device is that I no longer have instant dial tone to make a call.
I will have to wait like about 5 or more seconds.
From a few seconds of no tone, then a few seconds of busy signal tone before the dial tone come on.

This is a repeat purchase as we used one from a cell company for about two years traveling and working out of our RV. Remote locations sometimes required an external antennae. My partners employer has a bandwidth requirement for work from home. This never let us down and we have the first one still. They are for use in a multi-WAN set up so I can WFH from camp. At this price they are a screaming deal. It came with an ATT
