Warning long review: We are a pet family. Both of our dogs are ones we foster failed, they were meant to be with us. Those dogs have had a lot of change over the last year. Our lab Shelle Belle passed away unexpectedly last year. Then we started packing my parents up to move. Lots of change for the dogs. Think 80 years of stuff, never throws anything away, 30×50 barn stuffed to the gills. So the dogs went from having me home all the time to being gone every Saturday to pack them up. After 2 months we got that done, house listed. Our second pup Samuel L. Jackson, was having some issues with jealousy after Shell passed with our other dog, Finneous T. Ferb.
We were able to quickly squash that with some muzzle/crate time training and within a month we were back to the dogs being BFF’s. The year of change continued, every weekend we were looking for new houses for my parents, thinking the house would sell quick. It did not, but we kept looking just in case.
January 23’ a local foster group I have worked with asked me to foster 2 puppy siblings for a week or 2. That turned into 8 months. Samuel became very protective of the puppies and would snap at Finn if he warned the puppies off if he wanted some space. Finn was not a puppy fan but tolerated them.
May 23’ my parents got an offer on the house and the weekend business started again. I always had a dog sitter during these months of busy Saturdays but Sammy eventually went from being Finn’s buddy, to snapping at him, to attacking him.
The attacks were horrible. It went from once every couple weeks, to a couple times a week, to every day. I learned to watch for clues when Sammy was going to explode and pounce. He never hurt Finn, it was more snarling, snapping, rolling around, but it was horrifying and upsetting. Our former happy home was in constant chaos. I had gotten bitten multiple times trying to break it up.
I read so many articles on sudden onset aggression. We got some recommendations on a behaviorist and scheduled a phone consultation for $175. Although she gave me some insight into some of Sammy’s behavior that I thought was high energy but in reality was anxiety that had gotten worse and worse with all the change with our schedules, foster puppies, etc. ultimately it wasn’t the right fit.
Her recommendation to redirect his aggression by retraining him to a key word and action to give a cookie treat. It didn’t work. The stress was doing me in. I would never, ever give up on Sammy but I could not let Finn live every day with the stress of worrying about the next attack.
I read an article on breaking up fights by using a airhorn. Went on Amazon to find one and this product was smack in the middle of those results. I watched the Video, read the reviews and immediately ordered it. Worst case scenario, I would waste $35, my neighbors would definitely appreciate not hearing an airhorn blast multiple times a day.
Charged it immediately upon receipt, after a couple trial and error tests, we found the beeping function has helped with awareness. When Sammy is showing his signs of going on attack or growling, this helps him refocus and stop. The ultrasound function was a godsend, it immediately stops any aggression or in motion attack, no intervention from me needed to try to break it up ending the injuries I incurred.
I’ve waited a couple of weeks of using it to write my review. Finn is a pretty good dog but does some nuisance barking and the beeping function helps with that. We still have one foster puppy and she could care less if I use either function lol, but the beeping function is helping with her over the top affection she tries to provide our cats.
This has helped our family get some peace. We have had 3 attack incidents since we purchased it, but the ultrasonic function immediately breaks it up. We have learned all of Sammy’s signs that his anxiety or jealousy is about to burst and a quick click of the beep function does an amazing job of redirecting him. My ultimate goal is to use this wonderful tool along with the bubble training method to try to bring long term peace back into the house.
The wrist strap is a nice addition. The battery holds a charge forever, although I turn it off when we go to bed and back on if they need to go out in the middle of the night, I haven’t had to charge it until today since we got it. About 2.5 weeks. It’s worth every penny of that $35.

This was bought to help deter my dog from barking at the TV. Have used it twice and she has learnt when I show it to her she must behave. It is ideal for training and stopping excess barking too. Love it

I like the fact that it’s easy to charge and lasts hours. It’s lightweight and smallish. Easy to use. My dog is hyper alert to noise and so this works well with her. I’m careful not to overuse it and always say ‘NO’ first then if she still barks I give it a quick tap on the product. It’s only been a couple of weeks but it’s already stopped her barking at the sound of other dogs barking or barking when visitors arrive at my door. Now she is getting use to looking at me to see if I have it and sits without barking or if I simple say ‘NO’ she stops.

Well I didn’t expect this to work like it did. I was 99% sure my chihauhua who is an ‘excited barker’, was destined to be this way forever. Nope, even the most aggressive barkers can change and I can’t believe how quickly this device stopped her from her excessive barking that was out of control. I pointed the device at her after the first bark, sounded the warning sound and when she barked again I pressed the second button for the high frequency sound. She cringed and backed away and did not bark again when getting out of the car which hadn’t happened in about a year. I was considering getting a no-shock bark collar but as she is a rescue I really didn’t want to put something frightening around her neck so this device was the last resort. It has made car trips easy again and my partner is much happier when we pull up somewhere now not having to deal with the embarrassment of my dog going crazy and sounding like a kid screaming ‘help!’ It was beyond embarrassing. She also used to do the worst farts as she barked which I put down to her pushing the barks out so hard that a fart escaped too! Loud barking and stinky farts are a very disorientating thing we had come to realise so every time we pulled up in the car it would end with my partner and I arguing and both in a bad mood. Now I don’t even have to use the high frequency sound, if she is getting psyched up when the car starts to pull up somewhere, I press the normal beep sound and she instantly settles down and rarely lets one bark escape. Safe to say the car smells a lot nicer now too. This device is an absolute game changer I can’t explain it any better but I was not expecting this to do much and it has exceeded all expectations and has become by most valued Amazon purchase to date!

I have four yappy, ankle biter neighbor dogs from hell that always bark when we go outside, and they try to attack the mower/fence when I cut the yard. I first tried this deterrent on them. After a bit, three of the four dogs kind of backed off, but one must be deaf and just stood at the fence barking. Not the crazy, I’m going to eat the fence, like normal, but he didn’t seem to mind the ultrasonic or beep at all. I started having doubts as to whether this thing worked or not.
HOWEVER, for our Great Pyrenes, who is extremely stubborn and will just stand in the back yard and stare at me when I call her, this has been amazing. We usually put a bark collar on her when we let her out, but it shifts over to the side, and after using it for two years, she mostly ignores its vibration. She has too long of hair for the shock. So, she barks and barks and barks. If I call her, she’ll stop barking for a few minutes, but not come in, then resume barking. We originally had a beep/vibrate/shock collar with remote, which works great, but after also using it for two years, we opted for using the automatic one. So, we basically have two collars, one to somewhat deter the barking, and another one that is really only helpful if we want to get her to come in. Sometimes we’d put both collars on her, which I don’t like to do, but that’s the only way to get her to lessen her barking, and yet allow us to get her back in the house.
With the remote collar, I’d have to sometimes hit the vibrate and beep button repeatedly, and sometimes she would also ignore it. It was hit or miss if she would actually come when I called her. Treats sometimes worked, but not very often.
Then I found out about this little device. wow, what a difference. The first time I used it, she was out back barking like usual. I tapped the ultrasonic button, and she immediately came running into the house, all excited. Later, she was barking again, and I didn’t even have to press the button after I called her. She just came running. That is rare. Another time, she started running down the stairs, barking, and I tapped the button, and she immediately turned around and came back up. If I use it in the house, she always comes running up to me and wants to be petted. She isn’t afraid of the sound. It’s more like a curiosity, and it definitely gets her attention.
We also have a little chiweenie, and when he got out of the gate the other day and ran up the street, I got to within about 150 feet of him and tried the ultrasonic button, and he turned around and ran back home and went back inside on his own.
So, like the instructions say, it may not work on all dogs. At least it may not work completely on some dogs (especially demon dogs, like my neighbors’). But in the case of my dogs, I’m extremely happy with it.
