Our young adult cat has some behavioral issues that need correction, and I’ve been looking for a solution. Google suggested shock collar training. This one was rated for all sizes of dogs and was very similar to one that I found designed for cats, with a wider range of settings. She’s about 10 pounds, and while the collar is adjustable to fit smaller dogs, it’s huge on our cat. She can’t wear it for more than an hour or so at a time, but when she is wearing it, she behaves much better, knowing I’m paying attention to what she’s doing. The beep is used for positive reinforcement. It gets her attention and she gets a treat from me if I use it. The vibration does give pause, and it gets her attention. The shock works but I only reserve it for when she doesn’t acknowledge the vibration-on lowest setting is enough to coax her down from the table after she ignores the buzz of the vibration. I did try the shock on myself, and it’s much milder than my tens unit. Not sure why the instructions state not to, because I wanted to know it’s not strong enough to hurt her! I would never turn it above level 2 for her training, though. It’s just a little static charge, and it gets her attention on the lowest setting, so no need to crank it up. I’ve only had her wear it a few times and while she’s pretty stubborn, it’s helping. She is a lot better behaved when it’s off, and that’s my goal. If it were more compact, lighter, and on a 1/2″ collar instead, it would be a better fit for puppies and average sized cats.

We purchased this collar in April and have been using it ever since.. The collar seems to do the job for the most part except for the shocking.. We have it all the way up but she’s apparently a tough pup.. “Pit/Lab/Australian Shepherd mix”.. Our dog still gets overly excited when people show up so unfortunately we are going to have to get a new shock collar that goes higher because this one isn’t getting her attention anymore..

This is a pretty good collar!
My favorite feature is that the battery last so long It only needs to be charged once every two weeks and that is so awesome!
My only complaint is that the collar itself isn’t the best material it’s a little bit of a cheap material and it’s also confusing when trying to losses or tighten it. Other than that I’d highly recommend!

We just got a new 1 yr old pup. He loves to run and not always listen. We needed a collar that could beep, buzz, and jolt…. if needed. This collar fit the bill perfectly. It is solidly built, relatively light and easy to put on and off the dog. The batter for both the remote and the collar have been great. I have only had to charge the collar twice since I’ve had it. We use it almost every day so it gets a lot of use. Dog is not a swimmer so cant speak to the waterproofness of it, but it is solidly built and seems like it would do fine in water. Above all the it works. Has great range. Many levels of buzz and jolt so you can find just the right setting to get the job done. I would always beep the collar before buzzing or jolting. It only took a couple of jolts to get him to realize the beep is the last warning to listen. Since then I have not had to do anything but beep it if he isn’t listening. Depending on your pup results may differ, but This collar is a great tool. Easy to use and adjust to your liking. I would recommend this product if you are looking for a training collar.

I am comparing this collar/controller to another brand I had used last year. This collar seems to work ok, and I think the dog responds to the signals when it works. However, I have a hard time understanding what’s happening in the controller and at the collar. First of all, it looks like a black box. There are some hieroglyphics that appear on the hand controller when it is turned on, but I’m still not sure how I’m adjusting the vibration and shock strength. I’m not sure to understand battery level, even though I suspect it is clearly displayed it’s still confusing to me. The only thing I’m pretty sure of is that I can hear a tone when I push the tone button – that’s my hope that it’s working. When I turn on the collar I get some sort of green infinity sign, And when I turn it off I get a red one. But if I have it on the dog for a while and I turn it off after using, it gives me the green sign. So was it off all this time and re-turning on???? Did it turn off automatically or time out??? I don’t get it. I imagine myself pushing the tone vibrate button and wondering why the dog isn’t responding to the signal when it was turned itself off sometime ago. And there’s some sort of lock feature, but when I activated the lock, it appeared to lock ME out so that my pushing the buttons did nothing. At least that’s what it seemed to me. The instructions should be adequate, there’s a quick start guide, etc, but maybe I have A.D.D. or something because I can’t force my brain to focus on the instructions long enough to get to the punch line and understand what is going on. In summary, the black box design looks space-age and streamlined, but it’s complicated for the info it gives, and I am uncertain that it’s working the way I want it to work. I feel like I would be better off building one in my basement with an analog single button and no digital display that works when I push it and I know what is going on. That’s all I really need anyway.
