Amazon Customer –
Have a 25-year-old crepe myrtle tree that desperately wants to be fruitful and multiply and is sending up 5-10 clumps of new shoots every week. Had been cutting them off flush with the ground using hand-held pruning shears. Don’t have bad knees but did not enjoy getting down on all fours and crawling. Thought about making a home-made extension for my shears but then I searched Amazon for grass clipper and it suggested grass clippers long handle. Perfect! Fiskars is a trusted blade brand. Lifetime warranty. Not adjustable height but works perfectly for me (6 ft. tall) but should be fine for anybody 5′ (bend your elbow) to 6’5″ (maybe bend your back a bit). Ambidextrous handles. Shoots are 1/8″ to 1/4″ in diameter and not woody. Instead of one shoot, these long blades can cut a whole clump flush to the ground with one squeeze of the handles! (Pruning shears had been one shoot at a time). Also can angle to get the shoots growing under the low hanging tree branches which I had formerly bumped my head on when standing up. Will also be perfect for cutting the bit of grass under my gas meter and beside the lines where the electricity and the cable comes into the house. The locking switch requires a firm push. If you have a big area or hedges to trim, you should probably buy a motorized clipper to save from tiring out your hands.

Good product. Big handle piece is a waste of plastic. Rotating scissor is a good feature.

These are good once you figure out how to use them

When I was new to whipper snipping sometimes there was certain corners in the yard I couldn’t quite get to. I bought this to tidy up those corners. Blades are sharp and scissors are comfortable to hold if not using for a long time

I have a small yard and was going to get a weed trimmer, but then realized that with Summer nearly over, I should be able to manage with only the shears. I got them and they’re very easy to use. I’ll need a full size trimmer next Summer, and will still use the shears for small areas that the trimmer is too big for.
Nadia & Tilders Mom –
This is a good trimmer for small areas. The blades are sharp and the trimmer is easy to operate. I wouldn’t give this trimmer 5 stars because 1) I wish the unit was a few inches longer (I’m 5’2″ and it still hurt my back after using it for a while), 2) it has difficulty cutting through grass taller than about 4″, and 3) it’s definitely not for trimming around your entire house, at least not all at one time. Your arms and hands will give out if you try to use this on a large lot or the perimeter of your house. I would not recommend this trimmer to anyone with arthritic hands or elbows.

Such a joy to be able to clip grass and weeds standing up. I can even pull weeds with it by just gripping the stem and pulling up if the ground is damp.

What a tool! This tool has literally saved my back when doing my yard trim work. With its swivel head, I’m able to get to all my trimming needs. Also be careful, the shears are very sharp. This is a very well engineered tool.

Been struggling trying to keep grass down between my neighbors fence and my chain link fence. This is the only tool I have been able to find to resolve this. Fits perfectly in between fences if reaching from top or if you want to cut from bottom.
