I was concerned this would be complicated or i would need a special recipe due to a review we saw on here but in the end there was nothing easier to use.
Here is what we did, we got a box of cake mix ingredients needed were eggs water and oil, pluged in the machine so it had time to heat, and in a bowl mixed the ingredients, we thene put everything in an empty water bottle with a sport drink top to make it easier to pour, we sprayed a bit of oil in the molds of the machine and started filling them, 3 to 5 min later we opened it amd theye were perfectly cooked , however the first 3 i did had the time to expand by the time we filled the 6 others and closed the machine so there was some mix that got out of the mold, we just peeled of the extra and still had a ball, second time we put the mix in the machine faster and they came out even more perfect, took us about 30 min to cook a whole box of cake mix, by the time the next batch was ready the previous one was alrwady eaten, we were able to pile up the last 4 or 5 batches for a nice pic,
Now the top part does not cook as much cause it takes time to expand and touch the heated mold, but if you want the cake to be a golden brown all around all you got to do is open the machine 2 minutes in spin the cake over and let cook with the top open for another 2 minutes.
These cake balls are prety small i would say the size of a quarter.
Personally we ate theme with no icing or anything almost like doughnut balls.
We also tried sticking a peice of chocolate inside before closing the top part and it works great the chocolate fell the the center and the cake puffed up all around it.
As for the cleaning nothing a small peice of damp paper towel cant fix just had a few drops of oil that leaked the back of the machine.
Hope this helps ppl who are hesitating on buying this.

This works really well once you figure out how long to bake your cakepops. I used a pound cake mix and rolled them in butter, cinnamon and sugar. They were delicious.

I bought this mostly because, in quarantine, it’s really hard not to just eat junk all the time. It’s too hot to bake now, and I just can’t order tons of cookies online (can’t afford it and they are SO much worse for you), so I thought I’d try this. I bought the Babycakes Mini Cake Pop Maker from Amazon Warehouse, so I got it for a smidge more than $12. The box was cut up and completely destroyed, but all the parts and papers were there, and there wasn’t a single scratch on the maker itself. (Previous customer seems to have cut out the front panel with a knife–maybe for a display or to get a rebate of some kind?) First time I used the vanilla cake recipe. I’m moderately competent with cakes, so I comfortably halved the recipe, used whole wheat flour, and added cocoa. Smart, right? But they turned out great! Today I tried a donut hole recipe from lovefromtheoven, which was a good recipe except for a HUGE error: 1 TEASPOON baking powder, not a tablespoon! A Tbs is way too much for such a small amount of flour, and it would have tasted horrid. From what I’ve read and seen, a good recipe for this machine has about 25% less liquid than a runny cake batter. I’ll try to remember to update this after I’ve experimented with some of my own recipes, but basically, you need more of a muffin batter consistence (but not sure about fresh fruit would in this machine). I used a disposable piping bag (which of course I haven’t disposed of yet) with the 2a tip (which only know because I looked it up). The tip was much better for me than just snipping a bag would have been because it didn’t stretch and helped preserve my bag for another use. The attached picture shows what’s left after Spouse started snacking. Didn’t have enough confectioners sugar, and they needed a little more oomph, so I made a glaze with regular sugar, cinnamon, and a drizzle of water and milk, then dredged the holes quickly in the bowl before putting them on the rack to drip. I consider this a highly successful purchase.

This is seriously my favorite thing I’ve ever boughten. (Exaggeration? Not even a little bit.) I have a strange fascination with all things mini so when I saw this, it was a no brainer. And we’ve used it non stop since it arrived. Waffle mix, pancake mix, muffin mix, donut recipe, cake mix – we’ve loved everything we’ve tried! My kids call them “those little puff balls” 😂 and ask when we can have them again. Ask and ye shall receive, my child!
I highly recommend using a piping bag (or ziploc bag) to fill the cavities. Super fast and efficient. I lightly spray with Pam every other batch and haven’t had a casualty yet. Mini tongs are great for pulling the baked puffs out. Most of what we’ve baked takes at least two minutes to cook, so I usually start checking on them around that time. Clean up is a breeze – let it cool then wipe it down with a wet cloth.
My only regret is not buying the 12 count to get those 3 extra puffs per batch. Lol. But I think I’ll probably just end up getting another of this 9 count (simply because it’s quite a bit cheaper than the 12) and have two going at the same time.

Had a great time making cake pops with my 7yr old granddaughter. Vanilla pops are delicious! Pops bake up fast. Tried spooning in 1 tbsp but batter ran over cups. Using a sandwich bag to pipe in less batter worked MUCH better! Instructions say pop removal tool included, but there was no such tool. Plastic baby forks work great! Vanilla pop recipe said it makes 7+ dozen but it only made 5+ dozen. No where near 7 dozen, even with initial spillover. Overall, good purchase for a kid friendly baking day.
