ABOUT MACRAME
Macrame (Spanish spelling Macramé) describes a knotting technique coming from the Orient for the production of ornaments, textiles or jewellery. Spanish macramé comes from the Arabic migramah. In Arabic, this means ‘weave’*. This technique reached Europe with the Crusaders and the Moors (via Spain). Since then she has experienced several heydays here, during which some very fine knot work was created. The last heyday in Germany was in the 1970s, with mostly very rustic-looking works.

ABOUT LITTLE ARTIFACTS
It began…
… with small finds like buttons, keys or shells that I wanted to breathe new life into to make wearable art. My passion for searching and collecting combined with my desire for creative craftsmanship.
On a trip to Europe…
… in our old Ford Transit called Gandalf (because he’s white on the outside and gray on the inside and hopefully can do magic too 😉 I’ve collected all sorts of things and further developed my skills in macrame, an oriental knotting technique.
This now creates…
… small artifacts that can be purchased through my Etsy shop. Enjoy browsing!

Super nice bracelet. I imagined it the same way. Length was custom made and fits perfectly.

Just great! Quality, packaging & delivery, appearance… I am completely satisfied with my new bracelets. I was particularly pleasantly surprised by the quality of the ribbon itself – it is very robust, yet soft and very comfortable to wear. This definitely won’t be my last order!

The stone wasn’t that nice. You can hardly tell that it’s supposed to be purple because it’s very dark.
